In this quick tip, we show you how simple it is to keep your camera running at its best by updating the firmware using the Canon Camera Connect app.
To get started, make sure your camera is connected to the app via Wi-Fi. Once your compatible Canon camera is registered in the app, you’ll get a pop-up notification when a new firmware update is available. You can also manually check for updates by tapping the menu icon in the top-right corner of the app.
When an update is available, tap Download and review the update details under Note. Agree to the terms and conditions, then begin the download. Once complete, the app will automatically connect to your camera and transfer the firmware. The camera will reboot, and you’ll be prompted to confirm the update directly on the camera itself.
Just remember not to open the memory card or battery covers during the process—and that’s it!
Before long, your camera will be running smoother, faster, and with the latest features—ready to take on your next creative challenge.
