Quick tip: Take flicker-free photos in artificial light

Minimising the disturbing effects of artificial light

When shooting under artificial lighting, fluorescent lamps can introduce flickering, streaks or unexpected colour shifts. In this Quick Tip, we show you how to use the Anti-Flicker function on your EOS camera to reduce these issues.

You can enable Anti-Flicker shooting via the Q button or through the red camera menu. Some EOS R models also include HF Anti-Flicker mode. Using a high-frequency light source, we demonstrate how this feature helps minimise flicker by automatically—or manually—adjusting the shutter timing for more consistent exposures.
