Choosing the Right Lens for Wildlife

By Letura Moses

For Kenyan wildlife photographer Letura Moses, growing up in Masailan meant being surrounded by nature from an early age. Today, in the Masai Mara, he uses his skills and Canon gear to bring the wild closer to us.

When shooting from a distance, Letura relies on the Canon 600mm lens—perfect for capturing animals without disturbing their behavior. In low-light conditions, he switches to the Canon 400mm lens, ensuring his images remain sharp and full of detail even as the sun goes down.

As a proud Miraisha Programme alumnus, Letura credits Canon for equipping him with the knowledge and tools to tell powerful stories through photography and videography.
