Meet the New Canon EOS R6 V

One Camera, Many Stories

Bring your vision to life with a video-first full-frame camera for creators. With its compact design and powerful image stabilization, the EOS R6 V gives you the freedom to shoot cinematic content handheld. It blends advanced features such as 7K 60p RAW, Open Gate recording and 32.5MP stills at up to 40fps, with user-friendly touches, including a vertical tripod socket and a front record button. A versatile creative tool, it’s ideal for everything from long-form videos and vlogging to social media clips.

It sits at the top of the EOS/PowerShot V Series, Canon's video-first lineup, at the same performance tier as the EOS R6 Mark III. The difference is intent. The R6 Mark III serves hybrid shooters equally; the R6 V tips firmly toward video, with a feature set shaped around professional content production.

SMALL CAMERA. FULL FRAME PERFORMANCE.

The EOS R6 V is Canon's smallest full-frame mirrorless camera. That's not just a size achievement. It changes how you work. Smaller cameras fatigue your hands less, fit into tighter spaces, and draw less attention on location. You can shoot all day without the setup wearing on you.

The ergonomics follow through. The grip sits naturally in hand, 12 custom buttons let you build a control layout that matches your workflow exactly, and the Vari-angle screen swings to accommodate low angles, overhead shots, and self-facing recording.

STABILIZATION THAT EARNS ITS KEEP

Up to 7.5 stops of In-Body Image Stabilization on the EOS R6 V is the genuine article. Handheld walking shots, slow pans, close-focus work: IBIS at this level absorbs movement that would otherwise demand a gimbal.

It doesn't replace deliberate movement, but it brings a quality to your handheld footage that would cost far more to achieve with external rigs.

VIDEO CAPABILITIES THAT COVER EVERY FORMAT

The sensor inside the EOS R6 V does serious work. You get 7K 60p RAW, giving editors maximum flexibility in post, alongside oversampled 4K 60p for a level of sharpness that goes beyond standard 4K capture. For slow motion, 4K up to 120p and 2K/Full HD up to 180p give you options that hold up even in close detail.

Open Gate recording captures the full sensor width, so a single shoot can be cut for widescreen, square, and vertical formats without losing quality on any platform. Combine with custom picture profiles to set a consistent look across your project. Four-channel audio recording means you're capturing sound with the same seriousness as image.

Two card slots give you the flexibility to record backups simultaneously, keep originals and proxy files separate, or protect your footage against card failure mid-shoot.

AUTOFOCUS THAT KEEPS UP

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with intelligent subject detection handles focus so you can concentrate on performance, composition, and movement. The system recognises people, animals, and vehicles, holding focus through complex scenes with a consistency that makes single-operator shoots genuinely viable.

The zoom lever, designed to work with compatible power zoom lenses like the RF 20-50mm F4L IS USM PZ, gives smooth, precise zoom control while recording. No abrupt jumps, no lost framing mid-shot

SHOOT STUNNING STILLS

Video-first doesn't mean stills-optional. The EOS R6 V delivers 32.5MP resolution with 40fps burst shooting and pre-continuous shooting, which begins buffering frames before you fully press the shutter. If you shoot fast movement or unpredictable moments, pre-continuous shooting gives you insurance you'll use.

BEYOND TRADITIONAL SHOOTING

A front record button and USB Video Class (UVC) streaming up to 4K 60p makes the EOS R6 V a serious live production camera with broadcast-quality output and no dedicated broadcast rig required. VR content creation is part of its feature set, and the Multi-function shoe accepts audio accessories, extending the camera's reach into professional production territory.

A tripod mount built into the handgrip makes vertical shooting practical without adapters or awkward rigging. If mobile-first content is part of your output, this matters every shoot.

WHO THE EOS R6 V IS FOR

If you're a documentary filmmaker who also posts on YouTube, a travel creator who needs one camera to handle everything, or a social media videographer who occasionally delivers stills to clients, the EOS R6 V was designed around your actual working life. It doesn't ask you to carry a second camera for your second format.

Full-frame quality, serious video specs, intelligent autofocus, and a build small enough to go anywhere. The EOS R6 V is where Canon's video-first thinking meets full-frame capability.
